Helium Announces Partnership With Prep Baseball Report
In its first major partnership, Helium Agency announced an agreement with Prep Baseball Report to serve as its exclusive representative for advertising and sponsorship sales.
Prep Baseball Report is an independent scouting service and event company based in suburban Chicago. PBR puts on more than 500 events a year, bringing in more than 50,000 participants, high school-aged baseball players from across the United States and into Canada.
Prep Baseball Report now has individual directors covering 41 states, providing the most in-depth view of high school players of any source in the nation. Most of PBR’s events are state or regional showcases, with standout national events such as the Super 60 in February and Future Games in August.
PBR is also growing its involvement in the tournament business, recently forming PBR Tournaments as a joint venture with Bullpen Tournaments in order to greatly expand is youth tournament schedule.
Sean Duncan, president of Prep Baseball Report, said that after seeing Lingo and Shelton’s work in the baseball industry over the years and knowing their media backgrounds, choosing them as partners to work on behalf of Prep Baseball Report was an easy decision.
“Basically, we have two titans of the industry working on our behalf,” Duncan said. “They have extensive relationships across every level of baseball, and will be using those to grow both our digital advertising and event-related sponsorships, and overall to raise our profile nationally.”
Lingo echoed that sentiment, saying that Prep Baseball Report fit into Helium Agency’s focus on businesses that are leaders in their fields but have not recognized or leveraged their potential on the media side.
“Prep Baseball Report is really good–incredibly good, actually–at running baseball events and producing quality content,” Lingo said. “It has allowed PBR to build both a successful events business and a subscription-based content business. That’s great, but PBR should be a national brand, and our job is to elevate the company and make that happen.”
